Here at The Soulshine Therapist, I offer clients a spiritually inclusive approach.
My foundations are in person-centred counselling. This as a way of being for me, both in my life and in my practice.
I believe we all know what is best for us, but sometimes we need help to find the answers. I also believe that even when things feel like they couldn’t be worse, some part of us wants to overcome our struggles and grow from them.
We hope for a better future.
My business name reflects how I work. I believe in a holistic (mind-body-soul) approach to overcoming difficulties. I am a spiritual woman and I want to bring my authenticity to client work.
How I work
My approach is that every client is different and therefore require different things to achieve the outcomes they desire.
As such, your voice will be heard as I draw on different theories, concepts, and interventions to tailor your therapeutic experience to your needs. At consultation stage, I will ensure I understand why you have sought therapy and what your goals are. If you want to include other therapeutic elements, such as holistic therapy or coaching, this can be discussed and integrated too.
Regardless of how we work together, I see the therapeutic space as an opportunity for growth and personal development. A space to nurture your awareness of yourself and to reflect on what this means for your life. I truly believe that when we build a strong, trusting, and genuine relationship, powerful healing and transformation can happen. I aim to help you feel 'lighter' and more empowered through our time together.
I will create a space of compassion, presence, and acceptance where you can slow down and connect with yourself on a deeper level. To have the space to hear your inner voice and to explore what it means to you.
If you would like to read more about me and my work, you can find an exclusive interview I did for Brainz magazine here.
I’m sure you have visited other therapist’s profiles and websites. It can be overwhelming and tricky to decide who is best for you.
When I qualified as a counsellor, I decided I wanted to offer something different to clients.
I have paid for counselling, coaching, and energy healing at various points in my healing journey. Each have had benefits to my overall well-being, BUT all happened with different practitioners. And so, I offer clients the opportunity to get all of these approaches to healing in one place, on their terms.
Sessions are tailored and unique to you and your healing journey. I believe in all these therapies, and it feels right that I offer the healings I am trained to do, if clients want them.
Regardless of how we do therapy, my intention is to support all clients to:
Therapy can be an experience of discovering who you are. Therapy will help you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and emotions and to expand your self-awareness. It will give you a mindful space to connect with your inner voice. My approach means you can discover more about yourself, how you relate, your patterns, and how you make meaning at a deep and meaningful level.
People seek therapy to try and make better something that is currently an issue in their lives. But it can also be so much more, it can allow you to tend to the deep wounds you carry with you and to begin to explore what they mean for your life. I can tailor your therapeutic experience to your needs and wishes, from a mind, body and soul level, so healing can happen.
All of this means you can move forward feeling more self-love, self-acceptance, and more self-compassion. You’ll feel more in control, more aware, and more empowered! You will have the ability to proceed feeling more at peace with life and yourself as you live more authentically, reclaiming who you are.
Yes, I am a therapist, but I haven’t always been. I left a successful 13-year career as a leader in the hospitality industry to pursue my dream of helping others in a meaningful way. To step out of my comfort zone and to do something that felt completely counterintuitive took a lot of work and courage.
I was about to abandon job security, great pay, a job I was good at, and everything I knew. Scary stuff that could have kept me exactly where I was- exhausted, unhappy, and unfulfilled! I knew I had to move from a place of fear to a place of belief.
I could not have done this without the support of my therapist. I realised that asking for help was having the courage to choose a better future for myself.
Therapy allowed me to get comfortable with who I am and why I wanted to make changes in my life. It allowed me to understand and trust myself. It helped me find meaning. I learnt to release patterns of behaviour that did not serve me well. The clarity and understanding I gained allowed me to move forward in a way that felt authentic and true to myself.
I advocate for therapy because I know its power. I have experienced it.
You could have this too.
I am committed to ongoing personal and professional development to ensure I am supporting all clients in the best way I can. I engage in regular trainings and CPD to expand my knowledge.
I will only work within my competence, and I make use of supervision to reflect on and uphold ethical and non-discriminatory practice.
I am based in Golborne, Warrington, close to J23 of M6 (East Lancashire Road), meaning I am easily accessible from Manchester, Liverpool, Cheshire, and surrounding areas. There is also a bus stop just around the corner for clients using public transport.
Exact location details will be provided once we have arranged your first session.
